Charles W. Brown (Charlie), born in 1949, has been in oil and gas operations since 1978 in the United States, primarily in the Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountains. As President of Brownwood Oil & Gas, he began his career in the field by acquiring numerous leases and participating in the drilling of wells in the natural gas-rich fields of Stephens and Caddo Counties in Oklahoma. In 1984, Charlie dissolved Brownwood Oil & Gas and began operations under Charles W. Brown, Inc. He began acquiring properties to broker as well as for personal investment. In 1996, in addition to his acquisition role, he took on the responsibility of partnership management. Charlie currently continues property acquisition and brokerage as well as manages 16 partnerships that own interests in over 6000 producing wells located in 10 states. Charlie is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen.
Bill Hurley, born in 1929, has been in oil and gas operations since 1956 in the United States, Alaska, and Canada. He received his bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1956. For twelve years, he worked in various capacities in the exploration department of Pan American Exploration Corporation (Amoco Oil and Gas Company). He has also worked in supervisory exploration positions for Stonehenge Oil Company and Continental Energy Corporation, until 1972 when he formed his own company.
He has involved investors, industry associates and himself in profitable oil and gas ventures from the Canadian border to the Gulf Coast since starting his own consulting company. He and his associates involved Stonehenge Oil Company in the discovery of the Madden Gas Field, a giant gas reserve in Wyoming. He also has had success in North Sage Spring Creek oil field in Wyoming for Continental Energy Company. For the past twenty years, he and Charlie’s emphasis has been in the purchase of oil and gas interests for their investment partners and their personal accounts.
